Walk With Me~

Just a little sort-of romantic poem;)

Walk with me a while
Through the meadow grass,
Alongside the singing brook,
Shining silver glass.

Where warm sun beats down
Upon my let-down hair
And songbirds trill sweetly
Of the day so fair.

Stroll these fields of clover,
My hand clasped in yours.
This day we can feel safe,
Away from storms and wars.

Perhaps we shall see
A young doe and her fawn,
Or just talk and wander
Til the day is gone.

Then catch me a shooting star
As twilight settles in,
And promise me that like its light,
Our love shall never dim.

Life~

When Spring has sprung,
The earth is young,
And life begins anew.

Air fresh and pure;
Delicate and demure,
Flowers graced with dew.

Then Summer moves in,
Earth matures then,
The sky a vibrant blue.

Rich green foliage full,
Playful breezes pull,
Fireworks, fireflies, never few.

But as Autumn arrives,
Earth heaves a sigh,
Looks back at days that flew.

Now wise and knowing,
Chill winds blowing
Colored leaves swept askew.

At last Winter takes hold,
Earth's bones grow old,
To fall asleep- she wants to.

She grows gray and cold,
Tucked neath a blanket of snow,
This day would come, she knew.

And so, as a child grows,
Matures, learns, and knows,
So the Earth does, too.

In an endless circle of
Life, death, and love,
She warns us our days are few.

In The Garden~

In the garden, there are plants.
Sweet, yellow flowers summon ants.

Rich,thick soil surrounds them all,
What once was a seed is now lush and tall.

Carrots, lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes;
Parsnips, peppers, broccoli, potatoes.

Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew;
Gooseberries, black caps, and an apple tree or two.

Daisies, mallows, tulips, pansies;
Roses, snapdragons, lupins, elegant day lilies.

Hummingbirds, butterflies;
Bumblebees, dragonflies.

In the garden, true beauty dwells.
Pure Nature's magic, no illusions or spells.

Summer~

I step outside in the fresh, cool air,
A gentle breeze stirs my hair.
All around me there is birdsong:
Sweet, harmonious, and not a note wrong.

All about the flowers bloom,
A solemn promise summer is soon.
Tulips, daises, mallows, lupines,
Every tiny blossom opens.

The farmer works hard:
The ground he plows.
Trees grow tall in the yard:
Maple leaves, birch bark, and willow boughs.

Above my head, the sky is blue,
Fluffy white clouds float by, too.
The air is fragrant as flower buds open anew.

The trees stretch high and embrace the sunshine;
It's hard to believe this day is mine!
The creek flows fast, topped with foam.
Summer, summer, welcome home!
