Mist and silver light
Autumn fire burning bright,
Crimson leaves a fiery sight
'Neath October's sky...
Chill winds dwell upon the hill,
Brooks and ponds start to fill
As raindrops downwards spill.
Another summer says good-bye...
Harvest of pumpkins, squash, corn,
Frost replaces dew one morn',
Another month of beauty born...
Time for garrulous geese to fly.
A cool, clear aura fills the air,
Golds and browns and scarlets flare;
Spiced hot cider and tales to share...
Hear outside the gale's fierce cry.
Blackbirds crow from barren trees
Bundle up- lest you freeze!
Oh, for memorable days like these!
'Neath October's sky.
